‘Stumperies, ferns and shady friends’
Andrew Tolman is based in the West Country working between the Cotswolds and Cornwall bringing with him 30 Years of practical experience in the world of gardening.
Andrew has just completed over 10 years of service as a Senior Gardener for HRH the Prince Of Wales. Since joining Highgrove in 2002 he has had a varied role gaining experience in many areas of the garden. He has developed a passion for topiary, ferns and other woodland plants as well as continuously having the pleasure of the care of the iconic Stumpery. This has resulted in a very personal affection for this unique part of the garden which continues to give so much pleasure to so many people.
Prior to Highgrove Andrew worked for another large Cotswold estate creating new gardens and lawns as well managing the native woodlands, wildlife habitats and traditional English parkland. His broad experience includes over 10 years on a 27 hole golf course covering sports turf, grass care, shrub and tree maintenance, irrigation, and golf course construction. Andrew is offering garden management services and advice as well as the creation, renovation and restoration of gardens, grasslands or native habitats whether they be part of a period 3 acre garden or a micro-stumpery next to your front door. He is also available to manage small woodlands and coppice, set up efficient composting systems and ensure your gardens are as eco-friendly as possible.
